Question:

When choosing a topic for a public speech there are two broad categories of potential topics you can use to assist you in choosing a topic: 1. Topics you know a lot about and 2. Subjects you want to learn more about. Describe in short sentences what each of these categories mean in your own words. Give examples for each.

Answer:

Topics you know a lot about means that its is your area of expertise. You would choose to write on a subject with which you were most familiar. For example, a Harry Potter fan would choose to write about Harry Potter and would talk about their own knowledge gained from being a major fan of the series. Subjects that you want to learn more about would mean you would decide to make your speech a learning experience for yourself. For example; if you like dogs you may find yourself wanting to know the different species of dogs and where they originated from.
