The novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" has historically been on several "banned book" lists. Providing evidence from the story in your answer, why do you think that might be? In your opinion should the novel be banned? Why or why not?
(There are a multitude of possible answers to this question. No answer would be incorrect as long as it answers all parts of the questions and provides specific evidence from the book supporting your answer.) For Example: I think the novel To Kill A Mockingbird has frequently been banned due to the frequent use of the "n" word and the topic of rape that is central to the novel. People probably believe that this language and topic are not appropriate for young students to read. I do not believe the novel should be banned, as the use of the "n" word and the accusation of rape against a black man by a white woman is meant to teach the reader not only what life was like for African Americans living amidst prevailing racism, but also to expose the reader to injustice and challenge the reader to stand up to injustice in their own time.
Subject: World History
What is cultural diffusion? Provide a specific, detailed, example of cultural diffusion from World History.
Cultural Diffusion is the transmission of beliefs, practices, languages, or technology between different cultures or groups of people. These may be spread through trade, war, or other forms of cultural interaction. One prime example of cultural diffusion is the spread of the Catholic religion, the Spanish language, foods, animals and numerous diseases, including but not limited to small pox, between the "Old World" (Europe, Africa and Asia) and the "New World" during the Columbian Exchange dating back to the age of Exploration in the 15th and 16th Centuries.
