Answer:

Use the most current edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) to find examples of different types of references in APA style. Another excellent resource for formatting APA references is the Purdue Online Writing Lab. The APA related site is located at the following link: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_style_introduction.html

One example of embedded librarianship in an academic setting could have a liaison librarian, for example the liaison librarian to the Business Department, holding research/reference help hours in the location of the Business Department instead of at the library.

Question:

Using the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), determine the origins of the golf term "bogey" as they relate to the song, "The Bogey Man."

Answer:

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, in 1890, during a golf match being played at the Great Yarmouth Club in the United Kingdom, Dr Thomas Browne was playing with a man named Major Wellman. They were playing the game against what today would be considered 'par' in modern golf. Major Wellman was unfamiliar to this way of keeping score and he referenced a popular song of 1890, "The Bogey Man," to explain his thinking of this invisible type of opponent (playing against par). "bogey, n." OED Online, Oxford University Press, September 2019, www.oed.com/view/Entry/20960. Accessed 2 October 2019.
