Question:

What's the best way to approach logic games on the LSAT?

Satyen G.
Answer:

There is no one best way to approach logic games. The best method is actually to learn the various methods, then synthesize them to come to one that works best for you. So I might learn an inference-heavy method (like PowerScore) and combine it with a hypothetical-heavy method (like Ace the LSAT Logic Games), helping me to make sure all my bases are covered!

Answer:

The number one rule of the college essay--and with the entire college admissions process--is to differentiate yourself. Even if your idea may be written worse than a cliche idea, if it's unique, it's worth writing about!

Question:

How does Bronte explicate her theme of 'the ideal marriage' in Jane Eyre?

Answer:

Many unlikely events occur towards the end of Jane Eyre that make the reader call into question whether the novel is truly as tightly organized and plotted as it might be. However, each improbable episode has a larger purpose—to serve Brontë’s argument. Brontë uses the convenient fire at Thornfield to remove plot obstacles that prevent her from demonstrating her idea of an ideal marriage to the reader; she uses Jane’s sudden attainment of a family to grant Jane financial independence and show just how passionate the love between Jane and Rochester truly is. While the contrivances in Jane Eyre may seem like flaws, these episodes are ultimately important tools to help the author exemplify, qualify, and conclude her main argument about what an ideal marriage that respects the principle of gender equality truly is--one where passion and reason intersect.
