Question:

How do you know Spanish?

Inactive
Dan R.
Answer:

I learned Spanish before I learned English from my parents. My mother's side of the family is from Argentina and my father's side of the family is from Colombia. I still have a lot of cousins and family in both of these countries and speak Spanish on a regular basis with them and with my parents/brother.

Question:

Why are pythons nocturnal?

Inactive
Dan R.
Answer:

Pythons, along with some other types of snakes, have pit organs located on their heads. These pit organs are types of heat organs that help the python sense when there is prey nearby, using the prey's body heat. Pythons are virtually blind, and depend on their pit organs to hunt and move around in their habitat. If pythons were awake during the day, they would have a hard time navigating their surrounding due to the heat from the sun. For this reason, they have evolved to become nocturnal species.

Question:

How can sitting all day cause sciatic pain?

Inactive
Dan R.
Answer:

The sciatic nerve travels from the lower back down to the back of each of our two legs. This large and long nerve passes deep to the piriformis muscle. Sitting all day can cause this piriformis muscle to become irritated and/or inflammed. Interestingly, the sciatic nerve actually goes right through the piriformis in 15% of people. When this muscle becomes tight or inflammed, it can compress the sciatic nerve, which in turn, creates feelings of pain down the legs.
