About Myriam

About Myriam
Hey! I'm Myriam, a second-year Biomedical student at the University of Warwick. I speak 3 languages (French, Arabic and English) and I took Biology, Maths and Chemistry at A-Levels. In my free time, I paint and sculpt, play music, bake my own bread and binge-watch Chef's Table (an incredible documentary series of the top 50 chefs in the world, I'd recommend it to anyone!).

Teaching Experience

Teaching Experience
I have been tutoring in different departments for numerous years. I started helping out in English classes in my French educated school. Then when I moved from Lebanon to England 6 years ago, I started tutoring students in French, Biology and Maths up until I graduated school. I am now a second year University student and I'm here to help you out as much as I can!

Work Experience

Work Experience
Hillingdon Hosptial, Shadowing Dr Mimi Haselden, the Head of the Respiratory Department
2019 - 2019
I had the pleasure to shadow Dr Mimi Haselden, Dr Dalia Wahab and Dr Peter Wills in September of 2019. I observed meetings between doctors and radiologists, where they studied X-rays of lungs and brains to get many opinions on the diagnosis, I also had many contacts with patients, from asking them about their symptoms, to learning about their lives and experiences.
King's College Hospital, Shadowing Dr Sanj Bassi, the Head of the Neurosurgery Department
2018 - 2018
I shadowed Dr Sanj Bassi and many other neurosurgeons during my time there. They taught me general medical knowledge about the Central Nervous System as well as the etiquette of an Operating Theatre and the varied, but equally necessary roles of the operating team. I even helped during an Awake Left Frontal Craniotomy, to ensure the patient stayed conscious by talking to him and asking him basic questions surrounding colors and objects around him.
