How do you study for a course that seems to be memorization?
There is a difference between studying and memorizing, yet it seems like with so many exams in short period of time all we are doing is just memorizing. The best way to study for a course exam is to start early. Finding your own study style is very important and do so early would be very beneficial. If you are a visual learner, convert words into pictures, use memory game with flashcards, etc. If you are an audio learner, use rhymes, create a song, use mnemonic devices, etc. Sometimes mixing both visual and audio learning styles can help you study and memorize information.
Are ESP and psychology the same thing?
For a simple answer: no. ESP is an abbreviation for extrasensory perception and psychology is the study of the human mind and its functions such as how the human mind affects human behavior. However, psychologists [those who study the human mind(s) and human behavior(s)] sometimes study ESP. Meaning they study the transfer of information from one person to another, the acquisition of the information about places, people, or things, and the prediction of the future.
How do I write a personal essay on a subject I have no experience with or never heard of before?
Writing a personal essay should be just that "personal", yet it should be professional too. It should be something that comes from YOUR perspective, not from someone else's perspective. However, it is sometimes hard to write about a subject that you are not familiar with or have never heard of before. The best way to start is to create an outline. Write down everything that comes to mind when you read the subject out loud. Then from there write down what you want to talk about how this subject relates to you personally. Once you have an outline written down, start writing. Don't worry about grammar, spelling, and accurate facts just write. Sometimes we write our best material without censoring ourselves. After writing down a very rough draft clean it up a bit. Maybe moving a paragraph or two around. Then check your grammar and spelling. Also read it out loud. This is very important because we tend to miss things if we do not proofread it. Have a friend, family member, co-worker read it too to make sure they understand your writing. When you are finished it is always a good idea to double check your spelling and grammar before submitting it on your application.
