What are the faults of the character Nick Carraway narrating F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby?
Nick Carraway's faults as a narrator lie mainly in his inability to be impartial. This makes him an unreliable narrator. Due to his own personal relationships with the other characters Nick's narrative is going to be tainted. This means that the tale the reader receives is not one we can simply accept as truth, instead we must consider that Nick has biases.
What is the moral of a story and why is it important?
The moral of a story is the overall message that the story is trying to express. The moral is oftentimes a lesson that the reader should learn from reading the story and promotes "moral" things such as righteousness and ethics. It is important because without identifying it the reader does not fully understand the purpose of the written work or motivating factor behind the telling of the story.
