Why study History?
The phrase "history repeats itself" is often more true than we realize. Being able to understand our country and world's history is key to understanding today's society, particularly from a political standpoint. It is important, and also interesting, to learn about our country's past and see how it is reflected in our present.
Why study English?
If you can't conquer your native language, in terms of writing and speaking, you'll fail in the professional and academic world. Being able to write effectively and proficiently is key to landing job and succeeding in school. Learning to read and write effectively starts at a young age and must be mastered early in order to succeed later.
Why is studying Communication important?
We all communicate-- it is pertinent to successful business and building relationships. The study of communication goes far beyond the effectiveness of conversation, but analyzes the way organizations communicate to employees and to external shareholders, for example. Communication also looks at issues of ethics, identity, power, work environment, gender, health, public relations, journalism and much more. Communication is the key to managing relationships--both personally and professionally.
