I have worked as a tutor for the past five years. I spent the last two years at Emerald Academy as a mentor/tutor/classroom aide, and I have extensive experience planning and leading lessons. I also have extensive one-on-one and group tutoring experience. I have worked in K-8 classrooms, but I also tutored students in math and writing while in high school. I have the most experience with reading/literacy and ESL tutoring.

I worked as a mentor/tutor/classroom aide at Emerald Academy for 4 semesters. My job duties: classroom management, assisting with activities, small group leader, communicating with teachers on student behavior and academic progress, and individual and group mentoring sessions. In this role, I also worked with students enrolled in the school's English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
Clemson University Work Study, America Reads Literacy and Writing Tutor

I worked for the Fall 2017 semester as an America Reads literacy tutor at elementary schools in Clemson, SC. America Reads is a national literacy program that gives children the one-on-one attention they need to get and stay ahead in reading and writing. My job duties: create lesson plans, plan and lead hour-long tutoring sessions, and submit weekly and monthly written reports to parents and teachers.
