How do you write the Introduction and Body sections of an essay?
There are several general steps to writing the Introduction and Body of an essay. Firstly, one must have already selected a topic and thesis. The Introduction of the paper should establish the topic and contain information about the subject at hand. The thesis statement is also included in the introductory paragraph. The thesis statement is usually 1-2 sentences, and it contains what the essay is going to be about and how it will be broken down. This is where the points are specified, however, they are not discussed in detail until the Body of the essay. The Body of the essay is composed of several paragraphs. The first topic or idea is introduced in 1-2 paragraphs in detail. Within this section, back up each paragraph with examples, facts, research or some form of descriptive justification. The last sentence of this section must contain a transitional one. Repeat these steps for the next added points.
