Mrs. Niekamp rewards her students with stickers. She has 1000 stickers. Every single week Mrs. Niekamp gives out 12 stickers. After 16 weeks, how many stickers will Mrs. Niekamp have left?
In order to figure out how many stickers Mrs. Niekamp has left I would have to multiply 12 by 16 to figure out how many stickers she gave out. So 12X16=192. I will have to take this number and subtract it from 1000 to figure out how many stickers Mrs. Niekamp has left. 1000-192=808. Mrs. Niekamp will have 808 stickers left.
Subject: Early Childhood Education
What do you think would help you become a successful early childhood educator?
I think in order to become a successful early childhood educator I would need to create strong personal relationships with students, parents and staff members. Humans are wired for connection and before we can teach someone something new it is important to establish a good relationship. It is also important to figure out what the individual interests are in students to help motivate them in their learning.
If you could choose any career when you grow up what would it be? What do you think you'd have to learn about to able to pursue that career?
I would choose to be a elementary teacher. In order to pursue that career I would have to obtain a university degree. I would also have to ensure that I have great communication skills with children of all ages. I would also have to be flexibly and adaptable as I would be working alongside many different individuals (teachers, educational assistants, parents, administrators). I would also need to learn about many important school subjects like English (reading, writing) and Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, Art etc.
