In Stratigraphy, what is the Law of Superposition?
There are 3 core principles in Stratigraphy developed by Nicholas Steno and are also known as Steno's Laws. The Law of Superposition states: in undisturbed strata, the oldest layer is at the bottom and the youngest layer is at the top
What are the layers of the Earth?
Innermost to Outermost: Inner Core Outer Core Mantle Crust
What is the difference between mass and weight?
Weight is the force exerted on a body in a gravitational field. Mass is a physical property of the object that remains unchanged regardless of the strength of the gravitational field. For instance, Sally's mass is 70 kg (on the Earth and the moon). Sally will weigh more on Earth than the moon because the gravitational acceleration on Earth is approximately 9.8 m/s2, while the gravitational acceleration on the moon is 1.6 m/s2.
