We can find the length of the last side using the Pythagorean theorem which states that a^2 + b^2 = c^2. Let c be the length of the longest side, called hypotenuse and let a and b be the length of the other two sides, called legs. We can use the equation above and adjust it to find the missing side. So, if the two legs are 5 cm, we have c^2 = 5^2 + 5^2 = 50. Therefore, c is equal to the square root of 50 which, when rounded to 1 decimal place, is approximately 7.1 cm.

Four states of matter that can be seen in everyday life are solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. However, the 3 main ones are solid, liquid, and gas. Out of the 3, solids are the only ones with a fixed shape. Although neither liquids nor gases have a defined shape, liquids have a surface while gasses do not. Furthermore, both solid and liquid particles are close to each other but liquid particles have a lot more freedom than do solid particles. Gaseous particles are as far from each other as possible and take on the shape and volume of their containers. Meanwhile, the volume of solids and liquids remains fixed.
