Answer:

If I were President, I would do as much as I could to help people because I think it's important to help the less fortunate. I would make sure that our education system is substantially funded and that more money is put into public schools so that all children can succeed academically. In addition, I would do my best to create more permanent, well-paying jobs so that no family struggles financially. Finally, I would implement better housing programs in order to find homes for all citizens, because no one deserves to be homeless. In conclusion, as President, I would create policies that would better the lives of the American people.

Question:

Read the following sentence: Even though I felt like I was lost in the new school building, I was able to locate the class where he was sitting. Which of the following words is a synonym for locate, as it is used in the sentence above? A. move B. teach C. find D. rescue

Answer:

The answer to the question above is C, find. After reading the first part of the sentence, in which the narrator notes that despite the fact that he/she lost, he/she was still able to perform a certain task- locating the class where he was sitting. This indicates that the idea of being lost is the antithesis of the verb locate, and the opposite of lost is found- which is why C, find, is the correct answer.
