Question:

How can I find books similar to this one that I like?

Answer:

If you are in a library that is using Library of Congress organization, you can start by looking to see what other books are on the shelf nearby. Library of Congress organizes by subject, so you will find books on that same subject close to the book you know. If the books are organized by the Dewey Decimal system, you will have to dig a little but and probably ask for some recommendations from librarians about similar books.

Question:

What are some major theories of ethics?

Answer:

Three popular ethical theories are deontology, utilitarianism, and virtue ethics. Deontology was the work of Kant, who argued that morally correct behavior could be distilled to rules that must be applied across the board, regardless if following these rules lead to pain or suffering. Utilitarianism wants us to look at the results of our actions to decide if those actions were good or bad. Virtue Ethics wants us to look at our own character and work on being a person who is more likely to do the right thing more often than not.

Question:

How can I find information on databases?

Answer:

First, you'll need to identify what you're looking for. Do you need a book review? A scholarly work? Then you need to find your databases, I think it's a good idea to use general ones first and then narrow it down to specific databases. So using Academic Search Premier or JSTOR are always good places to start. Then narrow down your search terms, brainstorm other terms that might yield other results, and start searching.
