Virginia Tech Department of Engineering Education, Undergraduate Grading Assistant
2015 - Present
Worked with many peers and professors to virtually grade work efficiently. Often worked overtime hours for professors who needed extra help, sometimes working a total of thirty hours a week, and became known as one to go to for quick and thorough grading. Graded in-person with one professor to better understand his needs and preferences. When working for another professor who had health problems and stopped communicating well with his graders, took initiative to direct the other graders to return work to students efficiently.
Virginia Tech Student Athlete Academic Success Services, Student Athlete Tutor
2015 - 2017
Tutored individuals and groups in varying engineering and science courses. Built relationships with four students that caused me to stay with the program for over two years. Observed individuals’ personalities and learning styles, and learned how to relate with each student differently to produce the best outcomes. Challenged students to perform their best by offering rewards if any one student could beat my personal test grades – and was pleased as several students rose to the occasion and outperformed themselves.
