There is a lot of vocabulary words to learn for this test. How can I best understand these words to help me for all sections that might include the vocab?
First, find a list of the vocab words. Then (if flashcards are your thing), memorize 5 words each day Monday through Saturday. Then, on Sundays, quiz yourself on these 30 words. Any word that you still don't know by the end of the week will just be tacked on to next week's words until you know all of them!

What is the most effective way to take notes?
The answer to this question will depend how you learn best. We would explore different options to figure out what works the best for you. One example is to print out the powerpoint/presentation beforehand and take notes on the slides. Sometimes, this isn't an option, or isn't helpful for you. In that case, we would explore the option of using colored pens and learning how to shorten your notes so you catch the important things being said. Finding the answer to this question will take some trial and error, but ultimately will be worth it!
The science section contains a lot of reading. What is the best way to complete this section with the time given?
This depends on your reading speed. Most likely, I will suggest completing any questions that ask you to interpret a graph/table because they can typically be completed quicker than searching through the reading for an answer. Thus you will be able to answer more questions (with higher chance of being correct) in a shorter amount of time. Then, the questions that require you to read the passages will be completed last.
