Why should you always outline a piece of writing (creative or academic) that will be longer than 3 pages?
For academic pieces, outlining can help you plot out what points of analysis and conclusions you are going to make, while outlining for creative pieces allows you to lay out points of world building and character development. Doing so allows you to ask yourself whether or not your academic reasoning makes sense, or if there are any massive plot holes in your creative work, before you even start writing them.

Why should you never include a character's thoughts in the action text of a script?
Because those thoughts should be conveyed either through a voice-over, or the parentheticals below a character's name. Putting them in the Action Text just looks awkward and wastes space on something the audience technically won't see.
The following is an example of a sentence written in the passive voice: "My English lesson is finished." Please translate this sentence into a version that uses the active voice. (Hint: the active voice focuses on the subject first, rather than what they are doing).
My instructor just got done teaching me an awesome English lesson. (or any other sentence that begins with the subject that initiates the action).
