How do you start researching health science or medical topics?
You start by breaking your question or topic up into manageable terms that databases can understand. You then apply these search terms into databases relevant to the subject matter that you are seeking, such as PubMed. Using the results from these initial searches you may find it necessary to refine some of your search terms, keep track of what is working and what is not generating relevant results, scan the citations, or abstracts for additional clues to your subject, keep searching, keep the citations that are on topic, synthesize your results list and reassess. In large comprehensive databases such as Google Scholar and PubMed, you should be able to generate a decent set of results on a given topic once you have established the most accurate, and the most relevant search terms.
What are the elements of a good paper or essay?
Symmetry, style, and support for your arguments are some of the most essential elements for a quality paper. Simply stated, you must tell your audience what you intend to do or to prove, you need to describe how you are going to prove it to them, and you need to make a relevant argument with some evidence to actually support your thesis, and finally, you have to present your arguments with clarity and with some panache, so that your argument, above all others stands out to your audience and remains with them even after they have finished reading your work.
What is your definition of a hero and how does that compare to heroic figures within literature?
Heroes are people that inspire you, that you look up to and would want to emulate. They can be as common and as normal as your mother or father or as complex and flawed as a sports star or political figure. Heroes in literature often have the same qualities that I look for in personal heroes, however they are often so flawed and so complex in nature that it takes a work of literature just to sort them out and to reveal their heroic nature. Heroes within literature are comparable to my own definition of heroes inasmuch as I need to know more about them than just the superficial, I need to know what makes them...tick.
