Tutor profile: Yan L.
Student teacher for 1 year (remote), Elementary school classroom aide for 4 years, tutor for 7 years
I am a teacher and I have taught at elementary and middle schools in Boston for 4 years. I have tutored for over 7 years! I majored in education at Boston College. My favorite part of teaching is getting to know students and creating course materials that engage students to make learning fun and accessible. I believe that each student is fully capable of understanding material. It just depends on how the material is presented to them. My goal is to meet each student where they are at, and support them in learning the way they learn best!
I taught remotely as a full-time student teacher this past year. I have worked in elementary schools teaching grades 1-5 and in middle schools as a classroom aide in the Greater Boston area. I also have experience working with ELLs and students with IEPs because I am an elementary education major with a specialization in Teaching English Language Learners and Special Needs.
