Complete the following problem to practice algebra simplification. -2(x+10)=10+10
Follow the rules of pemdas and simplifying. You can add the 10+10 to get 20. Everything inside the parenthesis remains the same. Distribute -2 to the x and the 10. On the left of the equal sign you result in, -2x-20=20. Add 20 to both sides to get -2x=40. Divide -2 by both sides to get x=-20.
Solve the following equation, -4x=20.
You would divide -4 from both sides of the equation. -4 divided by -4 cancels and 20 divided by -4 would result in -5. So x=-5
Solve the following equation that has one variable. -5x+20=25
You would subtract the 20 from both sides. You would be left with -5x on one side and 5 on the other side of the equal sign. Divide -5 from both sides to get x=-1 as your answer. You can check by plugging in -1 for x.
