Jewell Parker Rhodes has Jerome as the narrator in the story, but she works to develop the perspective when Jerome is dead as a ghost and when he is alive. We are able to see the different perspectives of the character's when Jerome is observing them as a ghost. We are also able to see how Jerome's death has impacted the perspective of different characters, such as Sarah whose dad was the cop who caused Jerome's death.
