In R, how might you complete an analysis on 100s of files without having to write a lot of code?

Answer:

You would create a loop that iterates over a file list, as so: for (i in 1:10); print([i])

Question:

Discuss the importance of epidemiology. What does R0 stand for and what does it indicate (be as detailed as possible).

Answer:

Epidemiology is the study of the incidence, prevalence and origin of infectious diseases. The field includes the idea of monitoring and tracking cases of infectious diseases with an aim of containment and understanding. Bodies such as the WHO and CDC are involved in these aims; providing research and communicating with government agencies to better understand outbreaks. R0 is the basic reproduction number, the number of people who are likely to be infected by a single case of a disease.

Question:

How does Shakespeare present romance in 'The Tempest' as a whole, and, specifically, in relation to Miranda and Ferdinand?

Answer:

Miranda is presented throughout the play as an innocent character, largely unable to look after herself, and submissive to those around her. She displays this innocence with her abrupt questioning of 'Do you love me?' when first meeting Ferdinand. This is evidence that she is not used to romantic encounters. The theme of slavery and freedom is referenced continually in the play, and is also present in romantic dialogue. In the context of the play, slavery and freedom is heavily tied to ideas of colonialism and barbarism. By contrast, in these romantic sequences, freedom is the ability to love, and slavery the denial of that want. Yet, for women of the time, marriage was likely more akin to bondage than to freedom, creating an interesting dichotomy in a modern context.
