Question:

What are the steps of CEQA? Why is it important in California?

Inactive
Caroline B.
Answer:

The first step is a preliminary review and initial study. Then it will be given a negative declaration, mitigated negative declaration, along with an Environmental Impact Report. Then, finally the project will be reviewed for approval. It is very likely that alternative procedures will have to take course, instead of your initial plan. CEQA is meant to minimize environmental damage and disclose information to the public. The process usually takes many years.

Question:

If you wanted to better represent a client, how would you go about raising awareness for them in the news and media?

Answer:

I would build a press kit (with backgrounders, profiles, news releases, fact sheets, and graphic designs) for them to give to reporters and create a newsworthy story to tell the public. I would contact local legislators and councilmembers and get them on board with our idea/story so they can tell their constituents. I would make sure all of my key messaging was consistent and that we had a professional website.

Question:

What were the causes of the Great Depression?

Inactive

Answer:

The Great Depression was caused by a boom in the 1920s because credit was introduced and there were very little regulations on the market. Too many people were using credit to buy things they really could not afford. To buy a stock, you only had to put 10% down (meaning when the prices fell you still had to pay 90% back). The agriculture, iron, and coal industries weren't doing good either, which led a lot of workers to be suffering. The stock market eventually burst because everyone was spending and spending with no money to back it up.
