Questions
Subject: Study Skills
I'm having a hard time focusing on my studies. Is there a free app that could help me focus?
::Me:: I'd love to help you find a free app that could help you focus on your studies. I'll need a little more info first. 1. What type of device operating system do you have (Apple, Android, Windows, etc.)? 2. Are you looking for a general app or are there specific focus issues you're having problems with? ::Student:: I have an iPhone and I need help creating a schedule and sticking to it. ::Me:: So, you're interested in an app that will help you create a work/study schedule and perhaps help remind to stay on task or move on to the next one? ::Student:: Yes. ::Me:: No problem. Give me a moment to see what I can find. I found an app called Focus Keeper that has 4.8 stars with over 17,000 reviews. The basic app is free, but does have paid add-ons. Focus Keeper helps you break up your work into 25-minute chunks with 5-minute breaks in-between. Does that sound good? I'm happy to continue looking for apps if you'd like. Subject: Library and Information Science
I'm working on a research paper about climate change and am looking for a famous old book about chemicals hurting the environment. I can't remember the title but the author is a woman I think. Can you help?
I can certainly help you figure out the title of a classic work about chemicals harming the environment that was written by a woman. After searching for the following: "chemicals environment classic book woman" I found an article from the Natural Resources Defense Council about the book _Silent Spring_ by Rachel Carson. This book was published in 1962 and is about the harmful effects of the pesticide DDT on the environment. Here's a link to the article: https://www.nrdc.org/stories/story-silent-spring If this is the book you're looking for, I'd be happy to see if your library has an available copy. If this isn't the book, I'll continue searching.
