The recent conviction of Derick Chauvin has been seen as a vindication in the death of George Floyd. State why you agree or, disagree with this statement.
I do not see the Derick Chauvin conviction as any type of vindication. Rather, I see it as a pseudo peace offering that was made in an attempt to forestall rioting and other potentially harmful activity, within the Michigan community. From the time that Mr. Chauvin was taken into custody until the time of his conviction, many in the Black community and even, the larger community, believed that Mr. Chauvin would not face 'justice' for his crime. The fact that he did, was seen as justice by some, a smokescreen activity by others and the signal of a larger issue to still many others.
