What is the difference between a refugee and an internally displaced person?
A refugee is is someone who was forced to flee their country. This may be due to war, persecution, or violence. Refugees fear persecution due to their race, religion, or political reasons. An internally displaced has to left their home country, but are on the run. Internally displaced people may be on the run for similar reasons as refugees, and may be under the protection of the government.
