Question:

What are the molecular differences of gases and liquids?

Tanner M.
Answer:

At the macro level, gases and liquids behave the same, but at the molecular level, there are 3 main differences. 1. Gases do not interact with each other (ideally, but in reality the do very, very weakly), where as liquids exhibit various levels of intermolecular forces. 2. An obvious but often overlooked part of this comparison is that gases are measured in Kp (pressure equilibrium), where as liquids are measured in Kc(concentration equilibrium). 3. This applies to solids as well, but when going through a phase change, the ability of the molecules to share and absorb heat changes, resulting in a change in specific heat.

Question:

What are the stages of development of tooth buds in the developing fetus?

Tanner M.
Answer:

Bud, cap, bell, late-bell. The stages are determined by the differentiation of the cells into specific cells, such as odonto-/amelo- blasts, who lay down dentin and enamel, respectively. Also determining the stage is the amount of biomaterial laid down.
