Question:

Hello, I don't understand when to use accents when writing out words in Spanish. Can you help, please?

Joshua G.
Answer:

Certainly! The easiest way to figure this out moving forward is to simply say the word to yourself. What I mean by this is that the accent makes certain vowels "pop" over the others. For example, if you were to pronounce the word "mamá" you would hear the final "a" coming off a lot stronger than the first one. Another example could be "tradición," where you would notice that "o" is very emphasized (also, most words that end in "-ion" will have an accent on the o). If you find that there are certain words you are having trouble with, or you are simply having a tough time understanding my method, please let me know so that I can work to simplify this lesson for you in a different way that will be easier for you to absorb moving forward!

Microsoft Excel

Question:

Hello, For my class, I need to learn all the shortcuts to navigate through Microsoft Excel's tool tabs. How would I do this?

Joshua G.
Answer:

Hello, To navigate through the tool tabs, your favorite button will always be "Alt", simply because that is the first button you will be pressing to navigate anywhere. For example, if I wanted to create a Pivot Table without using my mouse at all, my steps would be as follows: "Alt"+"N"+"V". Or if you would like to remove duplicate values: "Alt"+"A"+"M". I would suggest you make a test excel spreadsheet that you would like to play around with, and just use "Alt" to test as many shortcuts as you'd like so that you can apply what your learning, making it easier to remember. Please let me know if you have any question, or if you have any problems.

Writing

Question:

Hello, I am trying to type a persuasive essay, but don't understand what I need to do. Can you please help me?

Joshua G.
Answer:

Of course. In order to type a well-written persuasive essay, you must find a subject in question to write about. Once you have found your subject, you will need to pick a side that you will want to argue for. After that, you will need to provide insights justifying both your side and the later in order to show why your stance is more "better" if you will. When typing a persuasive essay, it's best to find articles to quote that will back up your statements (whether it is for your stance or against it). Finally, when you have finished, you will summarize your points in your final paragraph, as well as finish it all off with a strong statement showing why your stance was the more logical approach to that issue. Please let me know if there is anything you do not understand, or if you would simply like more assistance with this paper.
