Question:

Jack wants to bake some cookies for his mother. His recipe calls for 7 ounces of flour for 1 batch of cookies. If Jack wants to bake 4 batches of cookies, how many ounces of flour does he need?

Answer:

Jack needs to multiply to find the correct answer. He should be sure to remember that he needs to multiply the amounts of each of the ingredients by 4, since he is making 4 batches of cookies. Therefore, Jack needs to multiply the 7 ounces of flour needed for 1 batch by 4. 7 ounces times 4 equals 28 ounces. Jack needs 28 ounces of flour.

Answer:

In the book The Guardian, my favorite character is the dog, Bo. He was such an important part of the beginning of the story. Although he did not make it through the ending of the book, he was still an active part of the story through the actions of the other characters. Bo was not a main character in that he was not physically present throughout the entire story. However, Bo was mentioned many times in the remainder of the story, so while he was not a main character, he was an important secondary character.
