Answer:

Emily bought 16 balloons at the store. I know this because I added the number of balloons that are now popped to the ones that made it home and I got 16.

Question:

In an early childhood classroom, what is one strategy you can use to help teach a struggling reader?

Answer:

In my experience, in order to address a reader's individual struggles, you must first identify their direct needs through quick, informal assessment. From there, you can begin to directly target struggles you see in phonics and phonemic awareness. Addressing these issues through directly teaching them in isolation forms a strong background for learning.

Answer:

As an experienced educator, I believe that the most important factor to student success is building a strong relationship with students. When students feel comfortable and learn to have a growth mindset and trust for their teacher, they want to succeed.
