What is the general concept of R programming? And why should we use R?
R is a programming language and software environment for statistical analysis, graphics representation, and reporting. R is simple and easy to learn, read and write. It also has an effective data handling and storage facility. It provides a large, coherent, and integrated collection of tools for data analysis and data visualization.

Describe briefly what you mean by the atmospheric greenhouse effect?
Greenhouse effect (GHG) is the difference between the effective temperature of the planet and observed temperature at the surface, depending absolutely on the existence of GHGs (water vapor, CO2, O3, CH4 and other pollutants) responsible for different absorbed in the infrared spectrum re-emitted by the atmosphere. It can also be defined as the energy balance that controls the global climate, without which the incident energy would be higher than the emitted and the temperature would increase. This natural process happens because solar radiation heats the Earth during the day and at night it emits infrared radiation into the atmosphere, cooling down. GHGs promote the imprisonment of this same radiation, promoting a thermal equilibrium in the planet. However, anthropogenic activities, especially the combustion of fossils fuel, has substantially increased this effect, leading to global warming, since these GHGs have no saturation point, so the greater their presence in the atmosphere, the greater the absorption of infrared radiation.

What is your interpretation of the concept of earth system science?
The study and analysis of the interaction between the Earth’s four main spheres: atmosphere, hydrosphere, litho/geosphere, and Biosphere, and the cycles related (water, sulfur, phosphorus, carbon, etc.). It is an interdisciplinary science that brings together researchers across both the natural and social sciences, from fields including ecology, economics, geology, glaciology, meteorology, oceanography, paleontology, sociology, and space science.
