What makes Java a good introductory language rather than, say, Python?
Java is an incredibly useful tool, not only because it is a higher-order language than Python that gives users a few more tools to do what they need, but also because it allows users to learn other languages more easily. As an object oriented language, Java requires constant attention to concepts such as hierarchy, polymorphism, and inheritance as well as small technical details such as brackets and semicolons. Getting into the habit of being very particular is very necessary in Java, and knowing these habits and being able to think like a coder allows one to learn other languages much more easily.
Why is microeconomics a worthwhile course to study?
Microeconomics allows not only for the examination of an individual firm, but also allows a student to learn about different market structures. These are all important to economists when examining global markets, but are also important to business owners, as knowledge of the market they are operating in is necessary to capitalize on the advantages the business owner has.
How can calculus be used as an application in real life?
Calculus is not just random operations used only in the study of mathematics; calculus is used in chemistry, physics, economics, and business as well. For example, you can use calculus to find the marginal cost of a total cost curve in microeconomics, or the position of a particle based on its velocity in physics. There are numerous applications that calculus is a perfect fit for.
