Tutor profile: Carl S.
To be a good writer, do you have to be a good reader prior?
I believe reading and writing go hand to hand with each other. Reading improves the writer's vocabulary and influences their style. There is no doubt that exposure to various literature opens doors in your mind that would not have been opened if you did not pick up a certain novel/piece of literature.
What are the three elements that are needed to persuade an audience?
Ethos (credibility), Pathos ( emotions), Logos (reasoning), and there is a bonus appeal, which is kairos (timing).
How can I be an efficient tutor to my tutees who are learning English as a second language?
First, I would build rapport with the tutee to better understand their culture. Second, I would frame my corrections as questions. Third, I would make sure to give praise.
