About Erik
I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, three majors: History, General Music, and Latin. Now, I reside in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where I attend Eastern Michigan University studying Music Composition and Conducting at the Master's level. In addition to my music studies, I act as language tutor for the Beginning and Intermediate Latin courses taught at Eastern.
Teaching Experience
My teaching experiences comprise two areas - music and Latin. As the graduate assistant for the choral department at Eastern Michigan, I have rehearsed the Men's and Women's choruses, guiding them through the technical aspects of the music, but also instructing them on the historically-informed performance practice of various genres of music. I assist the Choral Music and Vocal Music faculty in scheduling and planning of events and activities. I help managed finances, including collections and expenditures. Also, I rehearse and conduct the Men's and Women's choruses.

I rehearse the church choir on a weekly basis, selecting and preparing music that is both liturgically appropriate, and fulfilling for the singers on a technical and spiritual level.
