Hi, my name is Dorian. I am multilingual and fluent in English, proficient in Spanish and Japanese, and a beginner in Korean. I am an aspiring fiction writer but have tried my hands at all styles and mediums of writing, including journalism, critical analysis, research, theses, critique, poetry, scripts, short stories, nonfiction and more. I'd love to help out with any writing or language needs you have.
Most of my past teaching experience comes in the form of informal tutoring sessions with friends or classmates. My best asset is that I have always been able to reintroduce concepts my pupils had trouble grasping in class and explaining them in ways they were able to understand. My most rewarding case was when I was able to lift a pupil's average test grade from a D+ average to a B+ average in just two one-hour tutoring sessions.
Hallyu at UCR, Director of Culture and Social Activities
2016 - 2017
As director of culture and social activities at UCR's Korean Pop Culture club, Hallyu at UCR, I had a duty to not only interact with club members and plan events, but also to impart upon them knowledge about various other aspects about Korean History and Culture, broadening their understanding of the country and hopefully helping them to appreciate aspects of it they were unaware of before.
