How do you become a good writer?
Because there are many types of writers and writings, this question is nearly impossible to answer. However, if there were any rules, they would be to write and read as often as possible. Read what you would like to write and write what you would like to read. Other authors can open your eyes to new worlds in words. They can guide you through your style and process. Often we censor our speech but allowing your thoughts to flow freely onto paper is how you too can capture an audience. The goal of every piece of work, no matter the subject or reader, is to "always leave them wanting more".
How is the study of History relevant today?
History is the study of the world; Without it, we would all be hopelessly adrift. History has the power to transport its student across borders and through time. It is remarkable that we are able to look into the past and, for a short while, experience the victories and tribulations of those totally different than ourselves. By studying history, we acquire the knowledge necessary for continued advancement but by forsaking it, we risk becoming stagnant. It is only through past that the future is possible and attainable.
How is the study of US History different than other types of history?
The United States is and always has been a world leader and innovator. Since its inception, the US has continued to reinvent the ways that a country and its people exist. With revolutionary ideas, the US propelled itself forward and embarked on a political journey unlike any other. So, naturally, because the US is, at its very core, different than other countries, the study of its history would be divergent as well.
