What are Boolean Operators and how can they be used effectively to aid in the research process?
Boolean Operators are a set of operators that can be used to broaden or narrow your search. Boolean Operators can be used to search for a topic with multiple search terms, or to connect various terms to develop a more specific search. The three basic operators are: AND, OR, and NOT. Using AND can help narrow your search. Using AND tells the database that all the search terms must be present in the search results. In some databases, such as Google, the AND is implied and put in between in your search terms. Using OR can be used to connect two similar or synonymous terms and broaden your search results. Using OR tells the database that any of the search terms can be included in the search results. Using NOT can help limit search results. Using NOT tells the database that there are certain keywords that should be excluded from your search results. Search order also plays a role in search results. Databases follow commands based on the order you type them. Databases will recognize AND as a primary operator and will connect concepts using AND first.

What are some factors that contributed to the Mongols´ success despite facing larger armies?
The Mongol army was mostly successful due to a combination of training, tactics, and discipline. Mongol training started at an early age, training in various different tactics, making it easier for them to adapt to different battle scenarios. The Mongol army was mostly made up of mounted archers who used a compound bow. At the time, this bow had incredible force and accuracy, enabling them to kill their enemies from a distance. Mongol soldiers found under strict discipline that applied to the highest positions to the lower ones. Part of Genghis Khan´s success was in part to his efforts to break tribal groups among the Mongols, ensuring that troops were loyal to him rather than tribal leaders. Troops were organized into groups of 10, 100, 1000 and 10,000 with leaders at each level. Each unit could fight on its own or in combination with another group, generally without supervision, enabling Mongol troops to better adapt to situations at hand. Additionally, the Mongol army was known for its speed, accomplished through the use of 4-5 horses per man, switching whenever they needed to with a fresh horse. Mongol ponies could live off sparse grass, making it easier for the Mongol army to survive in sparse lands. Additionally, the Mongol horse could also run large distances without tiring.

What are arguments Federalists made concerning the Constitution and the Articles of Confederation?
Federalists supported the Constitution and wanted states to ratify it. They believed that Constitution did not need a Bill of Rights as they felt it would limit the rights of the people rather than protect them. They favored a strong, centralized government and felt that the Articles of Confederation were not enough to support the strong centralized government the Federalists wanted as there were many weaknesses within it such as Congress' limited powers which prevented it from regulating commerce, no executive branch to enforce acts passed by Congress, no national court system, and laws requiring nine out of thirteen votes to pass in Congress. They would go to write a series of essays, the Federalist Papers, to advocate the ratification of the Constitution.
