How can I make my writing more concise?

Answer:

Writing can be made concise in a variety of ways. For instance, words can be combined in order to make sentences shorter. Writers can utilize the active voice, as opposed to the passive voice. Sometimes writers will repeat ideas multiple times in different formats. In these cases, sentences can be combined or even removed, to make the piece more concise.

Question:

What are some advantages and disadvantages of utilizing venture capital as a funding source?

Answer:

One advantage of seeking out venture capital for start-up funding is that venture capital firms will typically have access to relatively large amounts of money. Companies seeking more than $1 million will usually find other sources of funding to be inadequate in this regard. Another advantage of seeking venture funding is that venture capitalists tend to offer a greater degree of experience, insight, and connections than other funding sources. This is an important factor to consider, as fundraising is not just amount money, but knowledge and know-how as well. One disadvantage of venture capital funding is that founders will almost always have to cede some level of control over their company in the form of equity. This can reduce the freedom and independence of the founders. Another disadvantage of raising money through venture capital firms is that there is an expectation and often a pressure to sell the company as fast as possible. Venture capital firms make money by selling portfolio companies, so founders may feel pressured to exit as soon as possible, which can be stressful.

Question:

How can I be sure my essays stay on track?

Answer:

In short, each paragraph should begin with a topic sentence, consist of relevant supporting detail, and then end with sentence that serves as a transition to the next paragraph. This might sound very simple, but many people do not apply this. In addition, introduction paragraphs must contain a thesis statement that lays out each of the body paragraphs or sections that will be discussed in the piece of work.
