How does the author’s tone in the novel help develop the plot?
The author’s tone helps to illuminate the emotion or mood of the novel, whether that is angry, sad, happy, or any other emotion. The importance of the tone helps to establish what the reader should be getting from the novel. The author uses tone words to convey how they feel about a certain topic, which in turn tells you as the reader what the overall emotion of the novel is.
