How can I easily remember how to find the sine, cosine, and tangent of angles in right triangles?

Think SOH-CAH-TOA. Say it a few times and the phrase will stick. SOH-The sine of an angle is the length of the opposite side to the angle divided by the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle. CAH-The cosine of an angle is the length of the adjacent side to the angle divided by the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle. TOA-The tangent of an angle is the length of the opposite side to the angle divided by the length of the adjacent side to the angle.

Is a square a rectangle or is a rectangle a square?

Squares and rectangles are quadrilaterals. A quadrilateral is basically a 4-sided shape. For a quadrilateral to be classified as a rectangle, it must have 4 right angles (90º). For a quadrilateral to be a square, it must have 4 right angles (90º) and all 4 sides must be of equal length. Therefore, a square satisfies the requirements to be classified as a rectangle. But, a rectangle does not necessarily satisfy the requirements to be classified as a square.

What is the x-intercept and the y-intercept of the equation -6x+4y=36 ?

The x-intercept is found when y=0 so, setting y=0 makes the equation -6x+0y=36 0y is just 0, so now the equation is -6x=36 dividing both sides of the equation by -6 gives you x=-6 so, the x-intercept is at -6 on the x-axis The y-intercept is found when x=0 so, setting x=0 makes the equation 0x+4y=36 0x is just 0, so now the equation is 4y=36 dividing both sides of the equation by 4 gives you y=9 so, the y-intercept is at 9 on the y-axis
