Questions

Subject: Psychology

TutorMe
Question:

Do we really only use 10% of our brains?

Inactive
Caroline M.
Answer:

Not at all! This is a common psychological myth that will irritate any psychology teacher or professor! We use almost all of our brains at all times, because of the structure and set up of our neurons. Neurons that are not being actively used are pruned by the brain, so as to save energy. Therefore, if there was an area of your brain not being used, you would end up losing that area over time.

Question:

How personal should I be in my application essay?

Answer:

As personal as you feel comfortable with being! The more of yourself that you can share the better. While it may feel scary or risky, admissions counselors will appreciate your vulnerability and a chance to truly get to know what you're all about!

Subject: ACT

Question:

When in doubt and guessing on the English portion of the ACT, which multiple choice answer should you select?

Answer:

The shortest one that does the least to change the underlined portion, usually the option of NO CHANGE AT ALL. This is because the test focuses on brevity and condensation of information so if you don't know then most often the best answer is the shortest one.
