Why do your papers require a strong thesis statement? How would you create a strong thesis for a paper?
A thesis statement tells clearly what the paper is about and organizes it. This makes the argument as strong as possible. To create a thesis, you need to have an opinion. That opinion is the thesis and points must be listed in support of it. Each of those points then will become paragraphs in the paper you write from this thesis, offering evidence of the thesis. To craft the strongest possible thesis, do not rely on a first draft. Instead, the thesis should be rewritten as necessary, reduced to one or two sentences to improve it. The end result should be a viewpoint with evidence to support it.

Name one of the problems that the American film industry faced after World War II. How was this problem dealt with?
The biggest change was that the studios started to lose money, a big difference from the war. The Paramount case in 1948 also made the studios give up their chains of theaters, causing more loss of revenue. The main response was to move toward cheaper, character-based dramas that could be made cheaply. This focus on less glamorous movies also brought the popularity of bleaker noir-type stories which were bleaker than movies made during the war.

The New Deal created agencies to solve larger problems in American society as they dealt with the emergency of the Great Depression. Talk about a New Deal agency and what long-term problems it dealt with.
The Tennessee Valley Authority created jobs in a poor part of the country, so it gave quick relief from the Depression. It did this by building a series of dams on the Tennessee River. This kept the river from flooding so often while making it easier to navigate. Some lands could be reforested while others would be made better for farming. Cheap electrical power would be made by the dams that could power homes that had no chance to get it otherwise.
