Writing is boring but my teacher makes me write all of the time. What should I do?

Answer:

Writing can be boring; this is true, However, writing can also be a great way to learn new things and communicate with others. Try writing that will help you once you graduate from school. Learn, practice and ask your teacher for authentic writing assignments like learning how to write an email, writing reviews or starting a class blog. While learning about how to craft a thesis statement and be able to write an essay, it's also essential to learn how to write in the real world so let's start writing!

Question:

My English isn't improving and I want to give up. What should I do?

Answer:

You should figure out why you are learning English. Will it offer you more money? A better life? More friends? Learning how to communicate in English has many benefits but you first need to be honest about why you are learning and what the benefits will be in the long run. I would suggest having a goal. I want to learn English because I want to __________. Then take action to reach that goal. If you want to learn English to get accepted to a great university, that's a great reason to work a little harder in areas that you are weaker in. My overall suggestion would be to find books you are interested in and develop a love of reading. I would also suggest trying to write every day and to speak English as much as possible throughout your day. You can do it.

Question:

How can I be less nervous and better prepared for public speaking activities?

Answer:

You should think of presentations and public speaking projects as more of a conversation than a presentation. You need to first figure out: what point am I trying to get across? Once you know what you want to say, you need to do as much research as you can. The more you know about your topic, the better prepared you will be. The better prepared you are, the more confident you will be. The more confident you are, you will appear more persuasive and relaxed to your audience. Once you have done your research, you need to practice giving your speech as much as possible. It's also important to be yourself. An audience can tell when someone is not being authentic. So, if you are prepared, practice and act naturally, you will do great.
