Define a 'landlocked' country.
A landlocked country is one where there is no access to any given body of water mass, such as a sea, ocean or any open part of water exposing the country. The best example of this is Switzerland. Although Lake Geneva is a huge lake, it is not connected to an ocean or sea, or any major body of water for that matter.

What is diplomacy?
Diplomacy has probably existed for as long as mankind has. The easiest way to understand it is to start by seeing it as a system of structured communication between two or more parties. It should be underlined that political communities, however they may have been organized, have usually found ways to communicate during peacetime, and have established a wide range of practices for doing so. The benefits are clear when you consider that diplomacy can promote exchanges that enhance trade, culture, wealth and knowledge. For those looking for a quick definition, diplomacy can be defined as a process between actors (diplomats, usually representing a state) who exist within a system (international relations) and engage in private and public dialogue (diplomacy) to pursue their objectives in a peaceful manner.

Why Was World War 1 Such An Important War?
World War 1 was quite an important war that has formed the basis for modern world history as we know it today. Many borders of countries were drawn after the war. More importantly, the advent of several technologies allowed things to happen in war which was never previously seen. Some of these technological advancements which changed the face of war going onwards were: the invention of the tank, the invention of the machine gun, the invention of chemical weapons, and air warfare (via plane). Before World War 1, many traditional wars were fought on the fields with artillery, horses and swords, as well as muskets. But World War 1 changed it in such a way, crafting new industries that did not exist before, and pushing technology to the limit. By the time the war finished in 1918, many manufacturers would work on perfecting new weaponry for years to come .
