Subject: Spanish
How can I take my conversational Spanish to the next level?
It is all about practice, practice, practice! Read, listen, write, and SPEAK as much as you can. Try reading Spanish books, watching shows in Spanish, or joining Spanish speaking clubs to become comfortable hearing and responding in the language. This is key to develop confidence and you can only do that by practicing and seeing your improvement.
Subject: Writing
How do I write a pitch?
A pitch is a short, personalized message that tells a story about a brand or person. The key is to keep it short, and to-the-point. To begin you must start with an enticing lead that captures the reader's attention. Next, you will include a call-to-action to your audience. What do you want your audience to do with this information? Then, you will have to share more about the value of the product or person that you are pitching. What makes it so special? Finally, include a brief conclusion that recaps your pitch.
Subject: Study Skills
How do I find a study strategy that works for me?
There are many different study strategies that are effective for learning and it is important to try out different ones to see which suits your individual skillset and ability. I have explained some, but there are many more to explore! Retrieval practice is very useful for remembering main ideas. Put away all of your study materials and then write down everything you remember. Next, take as many study tests or practice questions available to you. When you miss a question, go back to it and study the main idea for next time. Another popular study technique is called interleaving. When practicing interleaving, make sure to switch between ideas and not to focus on one for too long. As you switch, make the connection between study topics. Finally, a great study skill that I like to use is making concrete examples. To do this, collect examples that your teacher has used or that you have found in your course material. Link main ideas to the examples and then try and make your own.
