How is American Sign Language different from English?
American Sign Language (ASL) is completely different from the English Language. ASL has different grammar structure, social cues, and context. ASL is considered a high context language, meaning you must actively pay attention to the person speaking in order to comprehend what is going on. English on the other hand is a low context language, meaning it does not take much to understand what the other person is saying. It does not take much to hear.
How can you break down a sentence in any language to understand its structure?
You can use something called a language tree. You separate the sentence through its individual structure and syntax.
