What are the phases of mitosis?

Answer:

I use a trick for this: A boy named Pro met a girl named Ana and they telephoned each other separately. Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase. (There are hand motions to this as well for double the help). The trick leaves out prometaphase and cytokinesis but otherwise, I think its a pretty handy tool!

Question:

What are proteins and what happens when they don't work?

Answer:

Proteins are the linear polymers; the little machines in your body that do EVERYTHING. Think of them as a long chain of amino acids. Each long chain has a specific way of folding together. When a protein is folded properly, it is called its "native state" and it is functional. When a protein misfolds, it not only loses its function but also can form aggregates with other misfolded proteins. These huge globs of proteins fall out of solution and build up in different parts of our body causing a plethora of diseases.
