What are the different music modes?
The word ‘mode’ comes from the Greek word which means "manner" or "method". A mode is a type of scale, for example: ‘doh re mi fa so la ti do’. If you change just one of those notes and you can call this scale a ‘mode’. Samples of modes are Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian and Locrian.
How would you describe modernism in music?
Modernism in music is referred to a period of change within the artistic field. Modernist composers broke away from the conventional, traditional style in music that led to an alteration of approaching harmonic, rhythmic and melodic aspects of music.
